Would Not Work With Him

He Robbed Comrade in Pit

“One of the dirtiest acts you can do is to take a motty off,” said Mr. M. L. Nokes, at Doncaster West Riding Court to-day, when Harold Senior (20), trammer, of Ings Lane, Bolton-on-Dearne, admitted stealing Is. Id. from Goldthorpe Collieries, Ltd., by substituting his motty for that of another man.

Mr. W. L. Crawford, who prosecuted, said that Senior had been dismissed because the men refused to work with Senior. This step was necessary to avoid a strike.

“The custom of this Bench is to send all motty cases to prison, said the chairman, “but you are young. You will be fined 20s.”
