Goldthorpe Bank Executive’s Daughter Weds At Mexborough

Miss Hillary Vanda Boden, only daughter of Mr E Boden, Accountant at the Goldthorpe Branch of the National Provincial Bank, and Mrs Boden, of 27, Church Street, Mexborough, was married on Saturday, at Mexborough Parish Church, to Mr Brian Parsons, only son of Mr and Mrs W.A.H. Parsons, of 20, The Broadway, Dudley, Worcestershire

The Vicar of Mexborough, the Rev J. Metcalfe, officiated at the choral service. Organist was Mr. L. Fletcher.

Given away by her father, the bride looked charming in a full length gown of white nylon velvet which had an open roll collar and train. She wore a veil and wreath and carried red roses and freesia.

She was attended by Miss Nora Beattie, Miss Tania Bilsby and Miss Catharine Parsons. Miss Beattie and Miss Bilsby wore flame velvet dresses with white accessories and Miss Parions wore blue velvet dress with w white accessories and all wore head-dresses of anemones.

They carried posies of anemones.

Best man was Mr. John Carter, a friend of the bridegroom. The bride’s mother wore a lilac ensemble with gunmetal and pink accessories and a fur stole, and the bridegroom’s mother wore a grotto all  blue dress with champagne accessories. A reception was held at the Green House Hotel, Doncaster.

The bride travelled in a wine and green shaded tweed suit with black accessories

The couple’s future home will be ” Chalfonts,” 44, Dumbleberry Avenue Sedgley near Dudley.
