Volunteer Spaceman

An Offer from Highgate

Mr. Herbert H. Smith, of 108 Bolton Road. Highgate, who is finding it impossible to get a regular job has volunteered to be the first man to travel into outer space in a satellite.

He said: “I will go on condition that my wife, Mary is amply provided for, because it is certain I would not return.”
