Trouble at Bolton on Dearne

George Greenhill, miner, Goldthorpe, was summoned for having been drunk and disorderly at Bolton on Dearne of February 2.

The case was stated by police constable Russell, who said the defendant was staggering about the footpath in a drunken condition. He refused to let anyone pass.

Sergeant Johnson corroborated, and the defendant, who did not appear, was ordered to pay 20s., Including the costs.

A similar charge was preferred against Tom Connelly, a Goldthorpe miner, the offence having been committed at Bolton on Dearne of February 2.

Police constable Blenkinsop said the offence was committed at 10.30 p.m., in Angel Street.

The defendant was drunk and wanted to fight, say no-one  could “take him down.”

Sergeant Johnson corroborated and the defendant, in his absence, was fine 13s 6d., Including costs.
