Mrs. Ogley, of 3, Victoria street, Gold-thorpe, has received news of her husband’s death in France.
Sapper Tom Ogley had been out 18 months. Before enlistment he was the Pearl Assurance Co.’s representative for Goldthorpe, and was highly esteemed.
The widow is left with a, large family. The following letter has been received from an officer—
” I am so sorry to have to write you on such a sad subject, but you will have heard from the War Office of the sad new sof your husband’s death, and I want to offer you my sympathy in your great sorrow.
He was buried in the military cemetery close by here, and in due course a, cross will be erected on the grave ”
