Able Seaman Arthur Jackson of High St, Goldthorpe, went to France last December, is in Netley hospital as a result of wounds received in action.

His left leg and half his right foot have been amputated, and he has also suffered a fracture of his left arm.

He single, aged 20, and before enlistment worked at Goldthorpe Colliery.

A brother, Private Firth Jackson, has been missing since April 1917, and another brother has been discharged after serving three years and been wounded three times
