A well-known Goldthorpe lad of 19 is with the Royal Artillery, somewhere in France. And he’s enjoying it.

He is Bombardier Norman Finch, third son of Mr. and Mrs. J. T. Finch, 14, Kathleen Street, Goldthorpe, who enlisted twenty months ago.

He attended Goldthorpe Council School, was a memr the local Troop ofand Boy Scouts.

At  14 he joined the St. John Ambulance Brigade and did some good work.

Before joining up he worked in the Parkgate seam at Barnburgh Main.
