Mrs. Eaglan, of 27, Jackson Street, Goldthorpe has received news that her husband, Driver George FagIan was killed in France on July 26th after serving three vear‘s and three months in France.
A letter from his Captain pays a great tribute to the deceased soldier. The letter reads:—
“This good fellow has been serving under my command for the past two years, during which period it has been a pleasure in having such a brave and gallant soldier serving with me.
He did not know what fear was, although he had, been through some very dangerous expeditions, and allow me, Madam, to personally express my deepest sympathy in your sad bereavement.
