Goldthorpe Hero.

At Goldthorpe a representative gathering was held to honour Sergeant G. H. Austwick. Mr. G. A. Thompson presiding.

Councillor E. H. Large this ,on behalf of the inhabitants, presented the soldier with an inscribed mahogany clock.

The Military Medal was presented by Mr. Barrow, Sergeant Austwick replying.

In Goldthorpe and Highgate 21 men have gained distinction.
