Schools Closed

Although still of mild type, the flu epidemic has spread more rapidly in the Mexborough area during the past or two, and nearly 7,000 schoolchildren have found themselves unexpectedly on holiday again.

Following the closure of Thurnscoe schools the previous night, all the schools Bolton-on-Dearne, Goldthorpe and Highgate districts were closed yesterday.

At Swinton attendances had dropped to about 50per cent, but the medical officer Dr. S. O. Hatherley has so far found it necessary to close only the Roman terrace school. It is probable, however, that other Swinton schools will closed during to-day
