To-Night’s Attractions at the Sheffield Dirt Track.

If the weather conditions are favourable, it is probable that a record crowd will witness George Wigfield, the popular Goldthorpe rider, make an attempt the British mile record at the Owierton Speedway, to-night.

The record is at present held by “Dare- Devil” Beckett, who recorded 81 3-5secs. at last Saturday’s meeting. Wigfield has impressed Sheffield dirt-track enthusiasts by his clever and consistent performances and whatever may be the result oi his effort he is certain to be accorded a hearty ovation.

Another interesting feature of splendid programme is return challenge match between Beckett and Wigfield. Each rider has victory over the other to his credit. Beckett’s was gained at the Iast meeting, when he gave great exhibition broadsiding. The third match is sure to be thrilling affair.
