Minister of Mines At Barnburgh

Two groups snapped at Barnburgh Colliery last Thursday on the occasion of the visit of Mr. Ben Turner, M.P., Minister of Mines, who inspected the pithead baths.

In the upper group are, left to right: Mr. Arthur Thomson, director and general manager of the Manvers Main and Barnburgh Collieries, Mr. Ben Turner, Mr. E. M. Forsyth (Mr. Turner’s private secretary), Mr. H. M. Hudspeth, H.M.Chief Inspector of Mines, Yorkshire division, and Mr. T. L. Soar, manager of the Barnburgh Colliery.

In the lower group Mr. Turner is seen chatting with a number of miners as they are leaving work.

A
