Looking For Eggs.

Goldthorpe Youth Fined and Repudiated.

George Butterfield (17), and Tom Jones (17), of Goldthorpe, were  summoned at Doncaster on Tuesday for having attempted to steal eggs front Bilham Farm.

Charles Henry Hardy-said that he saw one of them in his stockyards looking in places where the hens laid. Witness and his men gave chase and caught defendants but found no ‘eggs on them.

Jones said lie and Butterfield were going for a walk and when Butterfield went into the stackyard he (Jones) walked on.

The Clerk: Are you a friend of this lad ?

No : it is not so long since I gave him a good hiding (laughter).

Butterfield was find 20s.The case against Jones was dismissed.
