At Ecclesfield United’s ground, Goldthorpe put on four goals in the first 15 minutes, after which the home side held  their own.

Shepherd reduced the lead  before the interval, and the second half  Ecclesfie!d had most of the play,  Shephrd added a second goal, and the Goldthorpe defence was hard pressed to hold out to the end.
