Costly Sunday Drinks

At Doncaster, on Saturday, Mr. W. Baddiley appeared to prosecute Albert Hart, Edward Jubb and Frederick Chaplin, colliers, of Goldthorpe and Thurnscoe for having falsely represented themselves as bona-fide travellers on Sunday, February 7th, and securing drinks at the Plumpers’ Arms, Barnburgh.

The landlord eventually growing suspicious turned them out.

They had made the statement that they had slept at the Mail Coach at Doncaster, the previous night, but this house had been pulled down.

The police made inquiries and found that they had slept at Goldthorpe.

Jubb and Hart were each fined 25s inclusive, and Chaplin 20s. inclusive.
