British Legion – Lord Halifax Presents Standard

The upper photograph shows Viscount Halifax accompanied by his chaplain, the Rev. H. F. Painter, inspecting the Goldthorpe branch of the British Legion last Sunday, on the occasion of the presentation by him to them of a standard. Lord Halifax is wearing a large rosette specially made for presentation to him. In the lower photograph, the ceremony of presentation is shown, with Lord Halifax on the altar steps and the Vicar of Goldthorpe dedicating the standard.

The ceremony took place in the Goldthorpe Parish Church.
