Won the Grand Prix

Organising a “Wheelbarrow Grand Prix,” over a mile course between Londonderry and Leeming recently was Mr Nick Davies, formerly of Goldthorpe, now landlord of the “Willow Tree Inn,” Leeming, and it was all for the local Northallerton Friarage Hospital.

Winners were Mr Jim Davies and his pal, Mr Roy Bailey, of Goldthorpe, Jim is Nick Davies’s son.

In fourth place were Mr Keith Walton and Mr Tony Morris, also of Goldthorpe.

Two Thurnscoe girls were placed fifth, Val Wilde and Elaine Smith.

By request Mr Davies is to organise a further programme on Whit Monday.
