Wedding: Parkin & Thompson

At the Regent Street Congregational Church, Barnsley, on Saturday, Mr. J. A. Parkin, only son of Mr. and Mrs. J. A. Parkin, of Goldthorpe. was married to Miss Marion Thompson, only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. R. T. Thompson Old Mill Lane, Barnsley. The Rev. A. E. Taylor officiated.

The bride, who was given away by her father, wore a gown of flowered georgette with a white picture hat. She carried a bouquet of red roses. Attending her as bridesmaid, Miss Dorothy Parkin, sister of the bridegroom, wore a gown of mauve georgette with picture hat to tone, carrying a bouquet of mauve and pink sweet peas.

Mr. J. Carlisle was best man. Mr. O. Scott groomsman, and Mr. W. Beachill. a fellow employee, presided at the organ. Bride and bridegroom are employees of the Barnsley British Co-operative Society and members of its Operatic Society. At a reception held immediately after the ceremony in the New Arcadian Hall more than 50 guests attended. Mr. and Mrs. Parkin are spending their honeymoon in Bournemouth.
