Wedding: Merrill and Hocking

The marriage was solemnised at Goldthorpe Paish Church on Saturday of Miss Joyce Merrill, eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Merrill, 16, Goldthorpe Road, Goldthorpe and Mr. Eric Hocking, only son of Mr. and Mrs. E. Gardiner, 2, Poplar Avenue, Goldthorpe.

The bride was given away by her father and wore a princess gown in oyster brocade, with train, with veil and head-dress of orange blossom and seed pearls.  She carried tea roses.

Bridesmaids were Misses Winifred Merrill and Betty Gardiner, in blue taffeta, and Misses Freda Merrill and Jean Kilner in pink crepe.

Mr. B.C. Gardiner was best man and Mr. B Merrill, groomsman.

The honeymoon is being spent in Wales.
