Mayes-Grayson
The wedding took place at the Goldthorpe Parish Church on Monday, of Miss Edna Grayson, third daughter of the Mrs. and late Mr. T. E. Grayson, 55, Main Street, Goldthorpe, and Mr. George Hayes, youngest son of Mr. and Mrs. George Hayes, Barnsley Road, Highgate.
The bride wore ivory georgette, and lace coatee, and pearl headdress, and carried pink carnations. She was given away by her father, and attended by Misses Hilda May Grayson, Elsie Travers, (Leeds), and Hazel Tindall, The two former wore floral ninon and black hats, and carried sweet peas, the last named, white milk, and carried a wreath of silver leaves.
The best man was Mr. Samuel Morris, and the groomsman Mr. Thomas Grayson. The ceremony was performed by Father F. Bowtle (Highgate).
Miss Tindall presented the couple with a silver horseshoe. The bridegroom is widely known as a footballer. Last year he played for the Highgate club, and has always taken an active part in the sport since leaving school, where he was an outstanding forward in the school team.
