At Pockllngton, on Saturday, John William Hatton, of Thurnscoe, and John Fudge and Frederick Smith, both of Goldthorpe, were each sentenced to three months’ hard labour for night poaching on the estate of the Hon. G, E. Vestey, of Warter Priory.
It was stated that gamekeepers found car in a field and watched it for three hours until they saw the men approach it.
Freshly killed rabbits and some net stakes were found underneath a hedge.
The men pleaded not guilty.
