Happy Goldthorpe Boys

George and Walter Emmonds sons of Mr. and Mrs. Emmonds, 24, Prince’s Road, Goldthorpe, are both in the Army.

Walter, the eldest (aged 20) has seen three years’ service in the Queen’s Yorkshire Dragoons. He is stationed out East and is very fond of the life. He is looking forward after his term of service in the Army to joining the police force.

George is two years younger than his brother and stands over 6ft. He, too, likes Army life and entered two years ago. These soldiers are Bolton and Goldthorpe Council School boys.

Their father was in the Army for the last twelve months of the Great War.

Their younger sister who stands almost 6ft. is doing hospital work and is looking forward to becoming a fully trained nurse.
