Good Record

Four of the seven sons of Mr. H. Bullock, of Barnburgh Post office, are with H.M. Forces.

Albert Leslie Bullock is 35 and has been in the Forces for four years.  He has been in North Africa, taking part in the first landing and in Italy.  He has been in hospital recently.  Before joining up he worked at Barnburgh Main Colliery as a fireman, and was steward of the W.M.C. at Barnburgh.

His Brother Colin (32), was in the Territorials for five years before the war, and served in Mexborough A.F.S.  He joined the Colours about 4 ½ years ago, but was recalled on a Home Office order that auxiliary firemen were to remain in that service.  Later, he again went to fight, and is now with the Royal Artillery in England.

The other two lads are Eric Bullock (19) in the R.A.F. and Dennis Bullock, who is only 16 and is making the Army his career.  About 12 months ago he went to the Army Technical School and is taking a joinery and carpentry course. He will be there until he is18 and then has to serve eight years with the Colours and four years on Reserve.  Last year he obtained his 2nd class certificate.
