Serving with an anti-tank regiment is Gunner Edward O’Connor (20). son of Mr. and Mrs. E. O’Connor, of 90, Hope Avenue, Goldthorpe. Gunner’ O’Connor was born in Leeds and has lived at Goldthorpe ten years. He attended the Roman Catholic School at Wath, and assisted Goldthorpe Catholic Football Club for three seasons. A plasterer by trade, he is a keen cyclist.
