Gunner Arnold Jackson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Jackson, of Homecroft Road, Goldthorpe, joined up 12 months ago.

On leaving the Highgate Schools he started work at Barnburgh Colliery and after a year’s pit life left to take up domestic service in Dr. Dodd’s School in London. He spent a short time at the Ministry of Labour at Skegness.

Gunner Jackson likes Army life and is happy and comfortable.

During the Great War his mother did war work at Mexborough and Doncaster
