Met In Egypt
Two Goldthorpe brothers, L/Cpl. Raymond Bentham (28), Royal Engineers and Cpl. Harry Bentham (23), R.A.F., have met in Egypt. They are the second and third sons of Mr. and Mrs. F. Bentham of 2, Hope Avenue, Goldthorpe.
Raymond is married and his wife lives at Bentley. He has been in the Army about six years, and before that worked at Manvers Main Colliery.
Harry has been in the R.A.F. for about five years, two of which he has spent in foreign service. He was stationed in Egypt when his brother, who had gone there for a rest after serving in Italy, took part in the landing at Salerno. Before joining the Forces, Harry was a valet to Lord Dartmouth.
Mr. and Mrs. Bentham also have a son-in-law in the Forces. He is Pte. Chas. Harris, Lancashire Fusiliers, who returned from Malta last Christmas after serving there for about two years. He has been in the Forces for about four years, and his wife is on war work.
