Scouting’s Loss
One of the few people in the West Riding, who have been with the Scout movement since its formation Mr. George Green, of Goldthorpe, who has resigned from the position of Scoutmaster of Goldthorpe Troop.
Mr. Green is retiring from the movement in September. Doncaster District Association are losing a distinguished member in Mr. Green, who has 30 years’ service to his credit.
He joined in 1908, a year after Lord Baden-Powell had formed his first experimental troop.
Two years later he was granted an officer’s warrant, and his connection with the Goldthorpe (1st Doncaster) Troop has only been broken by a period of war service.
