Presentation to former Goldthorpe Schoolmaster

In recognition of the service he has given to the Goldthorpe Junior School over a period of nearly 40 years, presentations were made on Friday, the day on which his retirement came into effect, to Mr. T. E. Blacker, formerly of 41, High Street, Goldthorpe, and now of Flixton, near Filey.

The presentation to Mr. Blacker consisted of a fireside chair and footstool and he also received a gift on behalf of his wife.

Making the presentation the headmaster, Mr. W. Leggott, referred to Mr. Blacker’s splendid service in school and out. On behalf of his colleagues he wished Mr. and Mrs. Blacker a long and happy retirement. Mr. Blacker responded.
