Playing “Banker” At Barmboro’.
John Jepson. Edward Brook, Willie Stables, all miners, and George Lockwood, labourer, of Barmboro’ were summoned for gaming with cards, at a game called “Banker” at Barmboro’, on the 5th October.
P.c. Johnson said that Sunday afternoon, the 5th inst., at about 3.30 p.m., he was on duty in Furlong road Barmboro’, where he saw the defendant.’ playing at cards, at a game called “Banker.” He watched them for my minutes, and saw money charge hands frequently. He raw Brooks put 6d on. and Lockwood a shilling. He told them they would be reported.
All the defendants, with the exception of Stables were fined 7s. 6d. and the costs, 7s. 6s.; Stables was fined 5s and 7s. 6d, costs.
