Obituary – Mr Frank C. Chivers

The funeral of Mr. Frank C. Chivers (32), of 3, Claycliff Terrace who was killed last Thursday while working at Barnburgh Main Colliery, a report of which appears elsewhere in these columns, took place at Bolton Cemetery on Sunday, following a service at Goldthorpe Congregational Church. the Rev D. Rowlands officiating.

Mr. Chivers was a well-known footballer. He commenced his career with Goldthorpe Prims., later going to Goldthorpe Comrades. He was then transferred to Barnsley, and after a stay with that club went to Huddersfield Town. At the time of his death he was assisting Blackburn Rovers. He had also played with Manvers Main this season.
