Goldthorpe Man Weds in Kenya

Photographed on their wedding day in Kenya are Sergeant Sidney Scott, a regular soldier in the Royal Engineers and e sergeant Lillian Brodey – now Mrs Scott – of the Women’s Royal Army Corps.

sergeant Scott, whose home is at 23, Nora Street, Goldthorpe, went to Kenya 18 months ago and met Miss Brodey, who was serving at G.H.Q., near Nairobi.

She came home to 40, Briar Road Thornaby on Tees, for demobilisation and later returned to the sunshine colony, under the Army’s fiancee scheme – which meant a free passage to marry Sergeant Scott at the Garrison Church, Buller Camp
