Goldthorpe Father’s Liability

There were four summonses against Joseph Renard (67), dataller, 1 Bolton Road,  for being in arrears on two maintenance orders made in respect of two of his children, a son aged 26, and a daughter aged 21, at present in a West Riding institution.

The arrears amounted to over £9, and it is was stated that in the last 10 months the defendant had paid only five shillings.

The defendant was committed to prison for eight weeks, the commitment being suspended so long as the defendant pays six shillings a week.
