Goldthorpe ‘Bus Owner Fined
At Doncaster on Saturday, George Holden, ‘bus owner, Goldthorpe, was fined £2 for having used a bus without a road service licence.
P.c. Childs spoke to pulling up Holden up in High Street, Goldthorpe, on November 24th, and added that he was taking men from Bolton to Barnburgh Colliery.
Ob behalf of Holden it was stated that he had been running the service for four years. He merely took miners from Bolton to Barnburgh, and did not know he had to have a service licence. He had his road fund licence. “It is more or less the result of the ignorance on his part,” said Holden’s solicitor.
Supt. Minty, however, stated that Holden had been fined 10s for a similar offence in Barnsley last April.
