Goldthorpe Assault.
William Howley, miner, Goldthorpe, was, at the Doncaster West Riding Court, to-day, fined £3, including costs, for assaulting Patrick Cruise at Goldthorpe.
Defendant was formerly a lodger and was given notice in consequence of certain action.
Defendant later met complainant when returning from the pit, and committed a violent assault upon him.
He admitted striking the man in consequence, said, of him having said it about him, that he could beat him and a man to beat him.
