Goldthorpe Alderman
Alderman George Probert, J. P. of Goldthorpe, is due to seek re-election to the West Riding County Council on March 3rd.
He was originally elected in 1919, and not since been opposed.
Ald. Probert is one of the busiest public men in South Yorkshire. It is thirty years since he was first elected to the Bolton Urban District Council, being second on the poll at the first attempt, and topping the poll three years later.
In 1908 he was chairman of the Council, and has been Chairman of the Housing Committee ever since. It was formed before the war, this authority being the first urban district council to build working class houses.
