Saunders

The death occurred on May 13 of Mr Charles Henry Saunders, aged 87, at his home, 62 King St, Goldthorpe.

Well known as a brass bandman all his life, he was also a member of the Goldthorpe Pensioners “Evergreen” choir and was secretary until his illness.

In the Goldthorpe Pensioners Association he was a former chairman and a well-known figure at the annual festival for pensions choir’s. He  conducted the former Bolton Hall band.
