Death from Exposure at Barnburgh.
An inquest was held yesterday afternoon at the Plumbers’ Arms, Barnburgh, before Mr. F. E. Nicholson, touching the death of George Warris, labourer, of Kimberworth, who was found dead in a held opposite Mr. Hartop’s house, at on Tuesday afternoon.
It was stated in evidence that deceased was 60 year, of age, was nearly blind, and of weak intellect.
He lived with his sister, Sarah Armer, of Kimberworth, and was comfortably provided for, his money being in the hands of trustees. On Friday last he applied to a neighbouring farmer for work, but was told to come in the morning. He is then supposed to have left Kimberworth, for he was seen in Barnburgh on Sunday, where he wandered about until found dead in the field.
Dr. Wallis made a post-mortem examination, and the jury returned a verdict to the effect that “Deceased died from pleurisy brought on by exposure and want of food.”
