Mary Gallagher, a married woman, of Mexborough was ordered to pay £1 inclusive for assaulting Francis Blackburn at 3imboro’, on October 10th.
Thomas Wileman was charged in custody with being drunk and disorderly at Mexborough, on October 19th. He denied the offence.— The evidence showed that he was shouting, and was in a state of intoxication. —Fined 2/6 and costs, or seven days.
Charles Sutton was fined 2/6 and costs for a similar offence.—He said that he was very sorry, but he had had a drop too much. He had been on a visit to his sister, and had, unfortunately, lost his way.
For being drunk and d6orcierly, the following were fined the amounts named:
James Carr, miner, for an offence at Thurnscoe, on Oct.5th, 7/6 and costs;
John Hall, miner, Goldthorpe, at Goldthorpe on Oct. 12th 5/–, and costs;
Thomas Henson, miner, Thurnscoe, at Goldthorpe on October 12th, 10/– and costs;
John Knighton and C. Bradley, miners, Bolton on Dearne on Oct. 12th 5/– and costs;
Patrick Sheeham miner, Denaby at Denaby on October 19, 5/– and costs;
James Flanagan, pit hand, Thurnscoe, at Thurnscoe on October 5 10/–;
Abusive Language
The following persons were fined the amounts named for using abusive language:
Joseph Critchley, pit hand, Bolton on Dearne at Bolton on Dearne on October 5th, 7/6 and costs
John Jackson, farmer, Goldthorpe at Goldthorpe on October 9th, 2/6 and costs;
Frank Finlay and Charlotte Hall of Goldthorpe at Goldthorpe on October 12th; Annie Needles, married woman, Thurnscoe at Thurnscoe on October 12, 20/– inclusive;
William stocks, miner, new Conisborough, at Conisborough on August 13th, 5/– and costs
Various
Arthur Prince, a miner, of Mexborough, was fined 2/6 and costs for indecent conduct at Mexborough on October 12
George Shonhut, a Butcher, of Mexborough had 5/– and costs to pay for not having his dog under control at night in October 10th.
A fine of 5/– and costs was inflicted on Herbert Helliwell, carman, Bolton on Dearne, for not having a name upon his dog’s collar at Goldthorpe on October 6th.
For fighting on the highway at Bolton on Dearne on October 12th, Fred Owen and George Unwin, miners of Bolton on Dearne were each bound over. PC Ellis proved the case.
William Williams, a miner, of Highfields, was ordered to pay 5/– and costs for gaming with coins at Highfields on September 1st. PC Percival proved the case.
A Denaby miner, named Patrick Keane, who had previously been before the Court for drunkenness was charged in custody with having been drunk and disorderly at Mexborough, the previous day, and he was fined 20/– and the costs.
