Coal “Find” at Goldthorpe

While digging out the foundations for the new school at Goldthorpe, workmen struck the coal seam from which used to be drawn the fuel supplies for the potteries of the district in the days when that industry flourished hereabouts.

Our picture shows workmen collecting the coal to put into bags and take home.
