Boxing at the Empire Theatre
Some capital local contests were provided at the Empire Theatre, Goldthorpe on Saturday.
The principal contest was one of twenty rounds between two Goldthorpe youths, Spank Turner and Jim Cliff, for a substantial stake. Cliff was rapidly worn down, and in the sixth round be gave up.
Ernest Milner, of South Elmsall, beat Billy Crummack of Goldthorpe, in eight rounds.
At Doncaster on Thursday week. Stoker Trantor (Sheffield) retired to Ben Stevenson (Wombwell), in the third round.
