The final of the Mexborough and District Billiards Championship took place the Constitutional Club, Mexborough.
The finalists were H. Townsley (Goldthorpe) and J. Mattock (Mexborough). The latter, who played good billiards, led at the interval but afterwards the balls ran badly for him, and Townsley, playing a great game, won comfortably.
The highest, breaks were; Mattock, 28, Townsley 41.
Result : Townsley, 500; Mattock, 391.
