A Family Partition
At Doncaster on Tuesday, Florrie Holliday, Goldthorpe, was granted a separation order against her husband, Bernard, on the ground of persistent cruelty.
Holliday was ordered to pay his wife 12 6d a week. The case was adjourned a week earlier, the parties agreeing to allow the Probation Officer to act as arbitrator as to the care of the three children of the marriage.
Mr. B. Lindsey, the Probation Officer, said the wife was now living with a married sister but owing to overcrowding in that house several children had to sleep out. If Mrs. Holliday went to live with her mother the same position would obtain.
Holiday had a good home at his mother’s and Mr. Lindsey’s advice was that the husband be granted custody of the two elder children and the wife given care of the baby seven months old.
The Bench agreed to the suggestion.
