A Dog’s Last Bite.
Herbert Spencer; miner, of Highgate, was charged at Barnsley on Wednesday with allowing a dangerous dog to be at large.
Defendant: I admit I had a, dog and it was running sheep; but it was not dangerous. The farmer caught him and said he had done no damage.
Witness said he had since had the dog destroyed.
Supt. Blacker If that is the case that will put an end to it.
The Superintendent added that the dog was seen actually worrying sheep and subsequently a sheep was found badly worried, all the flesh being torn from its shoulder. When the facts were communicated to the defendant he made no promise about having the dog destroyed.
The defendant was ordered to pay costs.
