L.A./c. Roy Weigh, 17, Highfield Avenue, Goldthorpe, was educated at Highgate Council School and Wath Grammar School, and on leaving in July 1939, worked for a time in the chemical laboratory at Wath Main, joining the R.A.F. in July, 1940, as apprentice clerk.

He went to South Africa in 1942 and is Editor of his Station magazine out there.  At Christmas, 1942, he visited the Kruger National Park.
