Silver Spoon in His Mouth

Twenty-two-months old Stuart Russell Trubshaw of St Mary’s Road, Goldthorpe, who has won a silver spoon in the Healthy Babies’ competition will be visiting Leeds tomorrow to receive the prize from the Lady Mayoress.  All winning entries are invited to ride in procession from Leeds Town Hall to Roundhay Park, where the presentations will take place.

“Stuart was examined by two separate sets of doctors in the preliminary rounds of the competition” Mrs. R.E. Trubshaw, Stuart’s mother said this week.  We heard no more about the competition until my birthday when the invitation for us to go to Leeds came by post, on June 30th.  It was a very nice present, “she added.

Stuart won a competition in September at Thurnscoe, and this is what has induced Mrs. Trubshaw to enter him in this competition.  All the good things come at once to the Trubshaw’s, for Stuart’s step-brother, Ian has just passed his scholarship.
