Spanish Dancer in Yorkshire

Consuelito Carmona. daughter of a Spanish gipsy and great-granddaughter on her father’s side of Lord Lawrence, Indian mutiny fame, is making a dancing tour of Yorkshire this week in aid of Spanish relief. She has already visited Bradford, Otley and Kelghley. To-night she appears at the Welfare Hall, Goldthorpe, Boltonon-Dearne, and to-morrow at the Harrogate Hydro.

Having spent her childhood in Spain and India, she has studied at first- land native dances in many parts of the world. She was taught the traditional dances of Spain by gipsies and by the famous “Argentina,” and for these she wears authentic gipsy costumes.

To the artists Consuelito Carmona is subject which seems to hold infinite attractions. She has been painted many times by Russell-Flint, and also by Sir George Clausen, Francis Hodge, Florallon, Hedwig Pellltz, and James Mcßey. She has also been filmed and televised.

She came to London in 1931 after appearing at the Moulin Rouge and the Casino de Paris
