Checkweighman Case – At the House of Commons

In the Commons, yesterday, Mr. Beck, on behalf of the Ministry of National Service, stated that inquiry was being made into the case of Mr. Williams, of 17, Orchard Street, Goldthorpe, near Rotherham, a check weigher employed the workmen in a local colliery, the refusal of whose exemption from military service had caused indignation amongst the workmen interested.
