Met In Hospital
Fighting almost side by side in Normandy, though they did not know it until they met in the Royal Infirmary at Preston were Private Clarence Pinches (27) son of Mrs. F. Best and the late Mr. Pinches, 22, Lindale Gardens, Goldthorpe, and Clifford Hargrave, (19), son of Mr. an Mrs. J. W. Hargrave, 16, Homecroft Road, Goldthorpe.
Pte. Pinches had been in Normandy a week when he received a shrapnel ankle wound, and was sent to a hospital.
