Fitzpatrick

Treasured memories of my beloved son, Private John Fitzpatrick, Duke of Wellington’s Regiment, who was accidently killed, September 11th, 1941, aged 24 years.

“If all the world were mine to give. I’d give it, yes, and more: to see the face of the son I loved, come smiling through the door.”

From his devoted mother, 236. Furlong Road. Goldthorpe.

“He bade no-one a last farewell, he said goodbye to none; his spirit flew before we knew, that from us he had gone; our hearts still ache with sadness, our eyes shed many a tear; God alone knows how we miss him, as ends this first sad year.”

From his loving sister Mary and brother-in-law Bert, Manchester.
